South African National Lottery jackpots reach R112 million

The South African National Lottery, operated by Sizekhaya, reports significant jackpot totals for August 2026. The Friday, 21 August PowerBall jackpot has reached a combined total of R112 million, consisting of a R95 million main PowerBall prize and a R17 million PowerBall XTRA prize following thirteen successive rollovers.

Following Sizekhaya’s takeover of the lottery operations in June 2026, several mechanical changes have been implemented. The PowerBall odds have improved by approximately 20% due to the PowerBall number pool being reduced from 1 to 20 down to 1 to 16. Additionally, the Saturday Lotto pool was reduced from 58 numbers to 52.

Other recent results include the Wednesday, 19 August Lotto draws and the upcoming Saturday, 22 August Lotto and Lotto Plus jackpots, which are estimated to total R23 million across the three available games.
