South African rugby: Brumbies secure win and Griquas eye Currie Cup title

In South African rugby, the Grahamstown Brumbies kept their Epru Grand Challenge Top 12 playoff hopes alive with a 34-17 bonus-point victory over Star of Hope in Kariega. Despite an early 7-0 deficit caused by windy conditions, the Brumbies took control in the second half with tries from Ethan Daniels, Mueed Fritz, Khanyiso Solomon, and Lelona Xhaso.

In the Grand Challenge Bottom 12 Competition, Klipfontein United strengthened their lead at the top of the log following a 25-15 bonus-point win against the Middelburg Eagles at Harmony Park Sports Ground.

Meanwhile, in the Currie Cup, Griquas are aiming for back-to-back titles. Following a 38-14 semi-final victory against the Pumas, centre Zane Bester stated the team is focused on securing top log position to ensure a home final in Kimberley.
