South African Tourism launches Food Trail season 4

South African Tourism (SAT) has launched the fourth season of ‘Food Trail South Africa’, a television series hosted by South African-born Australian chef Warren Mendes. The announcement coincided with the celebration of Heritage Day, a South African public holiday observed annually on September 24 to honor the nation's cultural diversity and traditions.

The new season, which premieres on Australia's Network 10 on October 3, features 10 episodes exploring various regions including the Great Karoo, De Hoop Nature Reserve, Cape Town, Johannesburg, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Greater Kruger. The series focuses on the intersection of food, people, and landscape, highlighting local chefs, producers, and communities.

In celebration of the launch, an event was held at The Calyx in Sydney’s Botanic Gardens featuring a traditional South African braai. Local personalities have also noted the significance of Heritage Day, emphasizing the country's 12 official languages and the diverse culinary traditions that define the national identity.
