South American football: Libertadores semifinals and CBF broadcasting updates

In the Copa Libertadores semifinals, Flamengo and Estudiantes played to a 0-0 draw in La Plata, leaving the qualification decision for the second leg at the Maracanã. While Flamengo held more possession, Estudiantes recorded more shots.

In another semifinal matchup, Palmeiras defeated Fluminense 2-1 at the Maracanã. Despite the loss, Fluminense striker Hulk stated the team remains “alive” for the final following a late goal by Wesley Natã. Fluminense must win by two goals in the return leg in São Paulo to qualify directly, or by one goal to force penalties.

In domestic league news, Mirassol prepared for their upcoming Brasileirão match against Internacional as they continue their struggle against relegation. Meanwhile, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) denied reports of a broadcasting agreement with Globo for the 2030 World Cup cycle, stating that negotiations will only begin once Conmebol defines the competitive model for future qualifiers.
