Berisso hosts 49th Provincial Immigrant Festival

The city of Berisso has commenced the 49th Provincial Immigrant Festival, a celebration highlighting the traditions and cultures of the various immigrant communities in the region.

A key ritual, the ‘Posta del Inmigrante’, involved a nine-kilometer torch relay between different community headquarters. The procession concluded at the Immigrant Monument, where the ‘Lámpara Votiva’ was lit by the Dragones Rosas, a group of breast cancer survivors who practice dragon boat rowing.

The festival program includes various cultural activities such as the ‘Desembarco de los Inmigrantes’, gastronomic showcases, and the election of provincial cultural ambassadors. Additionally, the ‘Carrera del Inmigrante’ athletic race was held, organized by the local municipality and the Círculo de Atletas Platenses, drawing hundreds of participants to the urban circuit.
