South American Gymnastics Championship sees success for young athletes
The South American Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championship – USAG Levels, held in Asunción, Paraguay, saw significant success from young athletes representing Bolivia and Paraguay.
Six-year-old Bolivian gymnast Alma Leigue earned four gold medals and one bronze medal during the competition. Leigue, who trains at the Gymnastics Learning Center, previously secured five gold medals at the Level 2 USAG Elite Cup in Cochabamba.
Representing Encarnación, Paraguay, seven-year-old Sofía Fariña was crowned South American champion in her category, winning gold in the All-Around classification and securing top positions across all four apparatuses. Other Paraguayan gymnasts, including Isabella González, María Agustina Rivas, and Jissel Cano, also achieved podium finishes in various disciplines such as floor, beam, and vault.
