South American nations advance regional integration through tourism and maritime corridors

Regional authorities and private sector representatives from Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, and Uruguay recently met to advance integration and economic development through maritime and land corridors.

In Tocopilla, Chile, the Pre-Forum of the Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor Subnational Territories focused on strengthening tourism, logistics, and investment. The event aimed to diversify the productive matrix of the Antofagasta Region by leveraging the corridor's potential for international integration and territorial identity.

Simultaneously, the Corporación de Puertos del Conosur participated in the XI Regional Meeting of Cruises and Fluvial Nautical Tourism in Punta del Este, Uruguay. The gathering addressed the South American cruise market, the development of new regional routes, and the implementation of artificial intelligence in the sector. Discussions emphasized the importance of sustainable integration between port cities and local communities to enhance regional competitiveness.
