South American nations strengthen anti-corruption and money laundering cooperation
Regional authorities and international organizations are strengthening cooperation to combat corruption and money laundering in the Southern Cone. In Buenos Aires, more than 70 prosecutors, officials, and specialists from Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay participated in a Regional Technical Dialogue. Organized by Argentina's Public Prosecutor's Office in conjunction with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the U.S. Department of State's International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) bureau, the meeting focused on crimes against public administration and their links to money laundering.
Simultaneously, specialized training on money laundering advisory concluded in Santa Cruz, organized by the Ministry of Security as part of a Regional Security Joint Action Plan. The program featured Colombian specialists providing advanced investigative tools to police and judicial officials. The training aimed to improve the analysis of financial circuits and the detection of illicit economic structures to dismantle the resources supporting organized crime.
