South American swimmers achieve success in Argentine competitions

In recent regional and international swimming competitions held in Argentina, several South American athletes achieved notable results.

A municipal delegation from Ushuaia, consisting of 18 swimmers, competed in the Torneo Hispanista during the third stage of the Circuito Patagónico Austral de Natación in Río Gallegos. The team secured fifth place in the general classification. Individual highlights included Zoe Vera, who won first place in the 100-meter butterfly and earned several podium finishes in medley, freestyle, and backstroke events. Benicio Ramos also reached the podium with third-place finishes in the 200-meter backstroke and 200-meter freestyle.

In Santa Fe, Chilean swimmer Ricardo Gutiérrez delivered a strong performance at the Junior Open Water Swimming World Championship. Competing in the 10-kilometer junior category, Gutiérrez finished 24th globally out of 44 competitors, ranking sixth in South America. He also participated in the 3K Knockout Sprint, finishing 41st overall.
