South Asian activists urge peaceful resistance amid Indian youth protests

Activists and commentators from Nepal and Sri Lanka are offering perspectives to India’s Gen Z as youth-led protests continue in the country. Majid Ansari, a law graduate involved in Nepal’s Gen Z Alliance following the 2025 uprising, urged Indian protesters to resist injustice through peaceful means, citing Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of Satyagraha and B.R. Ambedkar’s call to ‘educate, agitate, and organise.’ He emphasized the importance of maintaining moral and democratic foundations during resistance.

In a separate exchange regarding the protests, Mary Millben alleged that certain US-based donors target US-educated individuals to radicalize and fund political activities intended to cause disruption in their home countries. She called on young Indians to organize and peacefully oppose the CJP. Abhijeet Dipke rejected these remarks, arguing that India’s domestic political disputes should be managed by Indians rather than outsiders, questioning the necessity of American involvement in the country's internal debates.
