South Asian security analysis warns of new limited war patterns

A new analysis by Professor Shyam Tekwani of the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies warns of a shifting paradigm in South Asian conflict. The report, titled “The New Grammar of Limited War in South Asia,” suggests that future India-Pakistan crises are likely to move away from traditional ground mobilizations.

Instead, the analysis predicts a reliance on high-speed, stand-off strikes that are heavily obscured by disinformation. Examining the strategic fallout of hypothetical 2025 border conflicts, the research concludes that advancements in drone technology and precision weaponry have lowered the threshold for armed conflict rather than stabilizing the region.
