South Auckland incident leaves two dead and triggers school lockdowns
Two people have died following a serious incident in South Auckland. Emergency services responded to an address on Gambare Place in Manurewa after reports of an unresponsive woman. Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers confirmed that the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and during a subsequent search of the property, police located a man who was also pronounced deceased.
As a precaution, the Ministry of Education advised several nearby schools to initiate lockdowns while police conducted their investigation. Cordons were established around Mahia Road, and authorities urged the public to avoid the area. Local officials have called for residents to remain vigilant during the ongoing police work.
