South Australia culinary and wine tourism sectors receive major recognition

South Australia is experiencing a significant boost in its culinary and wine tourism profile through several major industry recognitions. Eleven wineries and wine tourism businesses, including Beresford Estate and Chateau Tanunda, have been shortlisted for the 2027 Best Of Wine Tourism Awards. Winners will represent the state at the Great Wine Capitals Global Network conference in New Zealand.

Adding to the international attention, the MICHELIN Guide will unveil its first-ever South Australian restaurant selections on 14 October at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The guide will feature Stars, Bib Gourmand, and MICHELIN Selected listings, determined by anonymous inspectors based on ingredient quality, cooking mastery, and consistency.

Furthermore, the state’s dining scene has demonstrated strength in domestic rankings, with 13 local venues named in Gourmet Traveller’s 100 Best Restaurants in Australia for 2026. Notable inclusions include Esmay, which was named Restaurant of the Year, as well as Hentley Farm Restaurant, KiinKiin, and LVN Restaurant.
