South Bohemia launches seven new beer tourism routes

The South Bohemian Tourism Center has introduced seven new beer routes designed to encourage autumn exploration of the South Bohemia region. These routes highlight the area's deep-rooted brewing traditions, which were officially recognized in May 2023 as a unique element of the region's intangible cultural heritage.

The routes span various parts of the region, including Budějovice, Šumava, Český Krumlov, Písek, Novohradsko, and the Třeboňsko and Czech Canada landscapes. The initiative aims to showcase both large, well-known breweries and smaller, family-run microbreweries, such as Pivovar Habakuk and Pivovar Jindra.

Some routes offer interactive experiences, such as a motivational system in the Toulava area where visitors can receive a special mug after tasting seven different local beers. To assist tourists, a map of South Bohemian breweries and microbreweries is available online and at tourist information centers to help travelers discover locations off the main tourist paths.
