South Carolina authorities indict 25 in drug trafficking investigation
South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the results of ‘Operation Duffle Bag Boyz,’ a year-and-a-half-long investigation into a drug trafficking organization operating primarily in Chester and Lancaster counties. The investigation resulted in 129 criminal counts against 25 defendants.
Authorities accused the network of trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana throughout the Midlands region. Law enforcement agencies conducted a roundup on October 20, 2026, which included local, state, and federal officers. Prior to the roundup, investigators had already seized significant quantities of narcotics, including over 2 pounds of fentanyl, nearly 7 pounds of methamphetamine, and over 10,000 pressed fentanyl pills.
In addition to drug and firearms offenses, several defendants face indictments related to dogfighting. Investigators reported seizing more than 30 firearms and 47 dogs during the course of the investigation.
