South Carolina collegiate cross country teams compete in regional meets

The University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) men's cross country team finished fourth overall at the 2026 Chanticleer Challenge in Conway, South Carolina, earning 98 points. Tarun Duraipandi led the Sand Sharks with a 16th-place finish in the 8K, followed by Elliott Howe in 18th and Zachery Vowles in 19th. Several runners, including Rickson Figueroa, Nolan Lamoreaux, Nathan Shouse, and Adam Watson, achieved new collegiate bests during the event.

Meanwhile, the University of South Carolina men's and women's cross country teams are scheduled to compete in the Adidas XC Challenge in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Gamecocks enter the event following a strong season opener at the Eye Opener, where they secured a victory. The roster for the upcoming race includes Teresa Cherotich, Abigail White, and Anya Arroyo, alongside several athletes making their season debuts.
