Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational: NC State wins cross country meet

Various collegiate cross country programs competed in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. NC State claimed the meet title with 39 points, followed by host Notre Dame in second and No. 12 South Carolina in third.

South Carolina’s performance was highlighted by freshman Louise Bailly, who recorded the ninth-fastest individual time of the meet at 16:03.42, marking the third-fastest 5K in the program's history. The Gamecocks placed all ten runners in the top 65.

Other notable team performances included the University of Dayton women's team, which finished 17th, and the Omaha cross country team, which placed 15th with six runners achieving personal records. Cleveland State's women's team also saw six runners achieve season-best times during the event.
