South Carolina defeats Victoria 94-81 in Bahamas summer league opener
South Carolina Men’s Basketball defeated Victoria (Canada) 94-81 in their opening game of the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League in Nassau, Bahamas. The Gamecocks secured the win with a strong second-half performance, outscoring the Vikes 52-41 in the final period.
Kory Mincy led the scoring for South Carolina with 18 points. Other double-digit contributors included transfers Camden Heide (13), Aleksas Bieliauskas (12), and Shane Blakeney (12), while Hayden Assemian added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Defensively, the Gamecocks forced 18 turnovers, including 13 steals, and held Victoria to just 16 made field goals in the second half. South Carolina's final shooting percentage for the game was 49.3%, with a notable 54.5% in the second half. The team will face the Bahamas National Team in their final summer league game on Monday.
