South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster appoints Charles Carmody to Patriots Point Development Authority board
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster appointed Charles “Charlie” Carmody to the Patriots Point Development Authority (PPDA) board. Carmody is senior vice president of CBRE’s Advisory and Transaction Services and serves as broker‑in‑charge for the firm’s Charleston, Columbia and Greenville offices, bringing more than 42 years of commercial‑real‑estate experience and a record of civic leadership in the Lowcountry.
The PPDA board, which oversees the historic Patriots Point site, consists of nine members serving four‑year terms. The governor appoints three members, including the board chair, while five additional members are selected based on recommendations from state legislative leaders and the adjutant general. Carmody’s background includes serving on the Charleston Trident Chamber of Commerce board and being named Commercial Realtor of the Year by the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors.
