South Carolina Men’s Basketball defeats Wake Forest in exhibition

South Carolina Men’s Basketball defeated Wake Forest 78-69 in their first official exhibition match of the season at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center.

Jakub Nečas led the Gamecocks with 22 points, five rebounds, and two blocks, shooting 6-of-10 from the field. Cam Heide contributed 14 points, while freshman guard Marcus Johnson added 13 points and four assists in 34 minutes of play.

Despite a mid-second-half surge by Wake Forest that narrowed a 16-point lead to five, South Carolina maintained control to secure the nine-point victory. The game served as an opportunity for coach Lamont Paris to test new rotations and defensive systems ahead of the regular season.
