South County hosts 24th annual Second Chance Week

The 24th annual Second Chance Week will take place from Sept. 12-20, offering residents in Gilroy, Morgan Hill, and San Martin opportunities to sell, donate, repair, and recycle unwanted items. The initiative aims to keep reusable materials out of landfills and encourage the circulation of used goods.

Activities include citywide garage sales, starting with Gilroy on Sept. 12-13, followed by Morgan Hill and San Martin on Sept. 19-20. The event also features Universal Waste Awareness Day on Sept. 14 to provide guidance on disposing of electronics, batteries, and fluorescent lights. Other scheduled activities include Trash Nothing Day on Sept. 15 and a coat donation day on Sept. 16.
