South Devon Football League enters 124th season
The South Devon Football League is entering its 124th season, reporting a healthier state than in recent years. While the number of divisions has decreased since 2013, the league has seen significant movement in membership.
Thirteen new applicants joined the league, with 11 approved during the annual general meeting and two accepted through a special general meeting. New participants include Newton Albion, Tavistock AFC (entering second and third teams), and Horrabridge Rangers. Additionally, Signal Box Oak Villa has entered a second team, and Windmill is providing a U18 team.
Conversely, several teams have withdrawn due to the loss of volunteers. These include South Brent, Totnes/Dartington 2nds, Teign Village, Harbertonford, Upton Ath, Barton Ath 1sts, and WBB 1sts. The league management noted the loss of long-standing teams such as Upton Ath and Harbertonford.
