South Devon NHS hosts event to address high skin cancer rates
The Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is hosting a free public event to address high rates of skin cancer in the South Devon area. The region experiences high levels of ultraviolet (UV) exposure, which has contributed to skin cancer rates that are notably higher than many other parts of the United Kingdom.
Part of the Trust’s ‘Medicine for Members’ series, the session will be led by consultant dermatologist Dr Rosie Davis. The event aims to educate the public on reducing skin cancer risks, recognizing concerning skin changes, and understanding diagnosis and treatment options.
The event is scheduled for 5pm on Tuesday, October 20, at TREC, Torbay Hospital. It is open to the general public, regardless of whether they are members of the Foundation Trust.
