South Eastern Railway upgrades Howrah–Barbil Jan Shatabdi Express coaches

South Eastern Railway has completed a comprehensive upgrade of the coaches for the 12021/12022 Howrah–Barbil Jan Shatabdi Express. This daily service connects Howrah to the industrial and mineral regions of Jharkhand and northern Odisha.

Interior improvements include new seat upholstery, replaced armrests and recliners, and renovated center tables, snack trays, ceilings, and luggage racks. Window fittings and roller blinds have also been replaced. Non-AC coaches have been fitted with new fans, LED lights, and charging sockets, while AC coaches received upgraded reading lights and charging facilities.

Sanitary facilities have been overhauled with new flooring, improved water fittings, renovated interiors, and hygiene mats to enhance cleanliness. Externally, the coaches have undergone PU painting, rust treatment, and repairs to doors, windows, and destination indicator boards.
