South Florida cities Doral and Miami Beach roll out tax cut and parking discount

The Doral City Council approved a reduction of the municipal property‑tax rate to 1.5994 % for the 2026‑27 fiscal year. The measure passed 3‑2, with Mayor Christi Fraga, Councilmember Nicole Reinoso and Councilmember Rafael Pineyro voting in favor. Officials estimate the cut will lower city revenue by about $2 million but say the budget can absorb the loss without reducing services or affecting Doral’s AAA credit rating.

Separately, Miami Beach announced a $1‑per‑hour parking promotion that will run from 1 August to 31 October 2026. Drivers can access the discount through the ParkMobile app, with a maximum of 45 hours of reduced‑rate parking per user (15 three‑hour sessions). The city expects the program to encourage longer stays by residents and tourists and to boost patronage of local businesses during the off‑peak season.
