South Kalimantan expands inclusive schooling and political party funding
Governor H. Muhidin of South Kalimantan announced a boost to the province's education initiatives, extending the Paket C program and inclusive schooling to ensure no child is left behind. The plan targets the 16‑18 age group, where school participation stands at about 75%, and seeks to broaden access through formal, non‑formal and inclusive education pathways.
In a separate move, the provincial government allocated Rp20.578 billion to nine political parties that won seats in the 2024 provincial parliament. The funds, calculated at Rp10,000 per valid vote, must have at least 60% used for political education activities such as civic awareness, ethical training and party cadre development. The dual initiatives aim to strengthen human capital and democratic participation in the region.
