Security forces in South Kashmir have conducted multiple operations resulting in the arrest of several suspected militant associates and the seizure of weapons and ammunition.
In the Shopian district, joint operations by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Army, and the CRPF led to two separate arrests. In the Heerpora area, three individuals—Junaid Muzaffar Dar, Aamir Yousaf, and Junaid Bashir Dar—were apprehended following the interception of a motorcycle. Authorities recovered two hand grenades and incriminating posters from them. In a separate operation in the Imamsahib area, three more individuals—Haris Manzoor, Ashiq Hussain, and Arif Ahmad Kumar—were detained. A search of these suspects yielded one hand grenade, two AK-47 magazines, and 20 rounds of ammunition.
In the Pulwama district, a joint team consisting of the Special Operations Group (SOG), the Army, and the CRPF arrested two suspects, Latif Ahmed Deedad and Aejaz Ahmed Bajad, in the Yarwan forest area. Officers recovered a pistol, a hand grenade, and 12 rounds of ammunition from their possession. Cases have been registered under the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) as investigations continue into the suspects' potential links to terrorist networks.
