Brazil‑South Korea Business Roundtable Yields Multiple MoUs and Trade Deals
A Brazil‑South Korea Business Roundtable was held in São Paulo on 28 July 2026, chaired by Brazil’s Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung. Around 30 senior executives from both countries met in three thematic panels on manufacturing and infrastructure, advanced industries, and consumer goods.
The event produced seven memoranda of understanding, including an aerospace cooperation MOU between Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) and Embraer, and agreements covering AI, semiconductors, health, food, beverages, cosmetics and critical minerals. Brazilian meat processor JBS signed a memorandum with South Korean Highland Foods to expand its presence in Korea and other markets. Additional MoUs were signed between Apex and KOTRA, Embrapii and KIAT, Finep and KIAT, Eurofarma and SK Biopharmaceuticals, and Embraer and KAI.
Bilateral trade between Brazil and South Korea totals roughly US$11 billion, with Brazil accounting for about 1 % of Korean imports. Brazil supplies about 80 % of the chicken imported by South Korea and leads coffee exports to the country. Negotiations are under way to open the Korean market for Brazilian beef and for fruits such as grapes, melons and lemons.
