South Korea and Brazil sign seven MOUs on aerospace, rare‑earths and K‑beauty

South Korean President Lee Jae‑myung visited São Paulo for a Korea‑Brazil business roundtable, where seven memoranda of understanding were signed. The agreements cover joint development of civil aircraft between Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) and Embraer, cooperation on strategic minerals such as rare‑earths, expansion of K‑beauty brands, AI, biotech and other future‑industry sectors.

The event gathered senior Korean officials—including Trade Minister Kim Jeong‑gwan and Hyundai Motor Group chairman Chung Eui‑sun—as well as Brazilian government representatives and executives from Samsung, LG, POSCO, SK Bio‑Pharm and leading Brazilian firms. Both leaders highlighted the importance of accelerating the Korea‑Mercosur trade agreement and deepening supply‑chain resilience.

These pacts aim to create a "one‑team" approach for investment, production and supply‑chain development, positioning the two countries as partners in global aerospace and mineral markets while expanding Korean consumer‑goods reach in Latin America.
