South Korea and France enhance cultural exchange through heritage and festivals
Cultural exchange between South Korea and France is gaining momentum through media coverage and local festivals. The French newspaper Le Monde recently featured the Seokguram Grotto, highlighting its historical and artistic value as a ‘jewel of Buddhist art’ and its significance to Gyeongju’s identity as a global tourism destination.
To further promote Silla heritage, the French international broadcaster TV5MONDE is scheduled to visit Gyeongju this month to film various historical sites. Additionally, the 2nd French Autumn Festival will be held in Gwangju from the 9th to the 11th. This festival, which originated from the ‘Korean Spring’ project in Nantes, France, aims to bring together artists, chefs, and planners from both nations to share experiences in music, crafts, and gastronomy.
