South Korea and Kazakhstan establish agricultural and water management cooperation
South Korean organizations have entered into new agreements with Kazakhstani entities to expand cooperation in agriculture and water management.
National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Nonghyup) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Seoul. The agreement aims to share knowledge regarding cooperative development, facilitate the exchange of agricultural experts, and collaborate on education, promotion, and information sharing. Future areas of potential cooperation include agricultural education, livestock training, and agricultural finance models.
In a separate development, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Water Industry Leading Companies Council signed a memorandum of understanding with KazWaste, a Kazakhstani waste management association. This agreement focuses on technical and information exchange in the water and environment sectors, the establishment of corporate networks, and the pursuit of joint projects. The partnership seeks to provide South Korean water companies with opportunities to enter the Kazakhstani market as the country seeks advanced technologies to address water shortages and aging infrastructure.
