South Korea and Mexico strengthen anti-corruption cooperation

During an official visit to Mexico from September 23 to 26, 2026, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung met with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo to advance bilateral cooperation in public integrity and anti-corruption efforts.

As part of this agenda, South Korea’s Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission and Mexico’s Secretariat of Anti-Corruption and Good Governance signed a memorandum of understanding. This agreement aims to strengthen cooperation regarding transparency, public management, shared responsibility, and anti-corruption policies.

The partnership builds on previous initiatives, including a public procurement capacity-building program and technical assistance from the Inter-American Development Bank supported by South Korea. Recent exchanges have also included specialized training for Mexican public servants in South Korea.
