Samsung launches AI‑powered smart glasses with Gemini integration

Samsung unveiled its first Intelligent Eyewear at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London in July 2026. Developed with Google, eyewear designers Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, the glasses run Android XR and embed Google’s Gemini AI for hands‑free voice, translation, note‑taking and navigation. The device uses split‑computing, off‑loading heavy processing to a paired Galaxy phone, and offers up to nine hours of active use per charge with a case that provides seven additional full charges.

Privacy is built in: a by‑stander‑facing LED signals recording, wear detection disables capture when the glasses are removed, and users control data sharing via a companion Galaxy phone. The frames are lightweight, feature thermal graphite to keep the processor cool, and come in multiple styles from the partner brands. No visual display is included in the first generation; audio speakers deliver information, while a future model with a display is planned. Availability and pricing vary by market.
