South Korea begins seasonal influenza vaccination programs

Public health institutions and medical facilities in South Korea have commenced influenza vaccination programs for the 2026-2027 season. In Seocheon-gun, health centers and clinics are conducting vaccinations from November 12 through November 30, with specific schedules for dementia relief centers. Free vaccinations are available for seniors aged 65 and older, national merit recipients, basic livelihood security recipients, people with severe disabilities, and registered patients with chronic diseases such as cancer or diabetes. Residents and workers aged 15 to 64 in the region may also receive vaccinations for a fee of 9,000 KRW.

In Ulsan, Eliya Hospital has been designated as a commissioned medical institution for the national influenza vaccination support project. Free vaccinations for seniors aged 65 and older are being rolled out in stages based on age groups, starting from October 6 for those aged 75 and older. Due to an early influenza advisory issued by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, medical professionals recommend that high-risk groups, including the elderly and those with chronic conditions, complete their vaccinations in October to ensure antibody formation before the peak winter season.
