South Korea Deputy Prime Minister Gu Yoon-cheol pushes ahead on real‑estate forum and tax reform

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Gu Yoon-cheol told senior officials on 20 July that the upcoming real‑estate large‑scale discussion and the forthcoming tax‑reform plan must be prepared thoroughly so that citizens can feel tangible benefits. He linked the effort to recently announced economic‑growth strategies, the presidential work report and the national‑budget strategy, urging that each department draft detailed implementation plans, maintain active field communication and raise policy completeness.

Gu also stressed the need to accelerate work‑method innovation across ministries and highlighted the importance of integrity training for senior officials, calling for the finance ministry to set an example of clean governance.

The remarks were made at an expanded senior‑staff meeting at the Government Complex in Sejong, attended by the ministry’s vice‑ministers, directors and senior managers.
