South Korea experiences sharp temperature drop and frost
South Korea is experiencing a significant drop in temperatures as cold air moves in from the northwest. Most regions across the country are seeing morning lows below 10 degrees Celsius, with some inland and mountainous areas in Gangwon and southern regions experiencing frost or ice.
While daytime highs are expected to reach between 19 and 25 degrees Celsius, recovering toward seasonal norms, a large diurnal temperature range of approximately 15 degrees Celsius is forecast. This sharp fluctuation is expected to continue, prompting health officials to advise caution regarding respiratory health and immunity.
Weather conditions also include potential rain in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon, and Jeju. Strong winds of up to 55 km/h are expected in some coastal and mountainous areas, and high waves may occur in the West Sea, necessitating caution for maritime activities.
