South Korea experiences sharp temperature drop and early cold wave

A cold air mass moving in from the northwest has caused temperatures to drop across South Korea, with morning lows reaching as low as 3 degrees Celsius. The Korea Meteorological Administration reports that while most of the country will remain clear, strong winds will make perceived temperatures feel even colder.

In parts of Gangwon Province, including Taebaek and Pyeongchang, a cold wave advisory has been issued. This marks the earliest cold wave advisory recorded since systematic data collection began in 2005.

Significant temperature fluctuations are expected, with daytime highs ranging between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius, creating a diurnal temperature difference of approximately 15 degrees. Residents are advised to take precautions against the sudden chill and manage crops in areas where frost or ice may form.
