South Korea experiences strong thunderstorms and heavy rain across central regions

The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast thunderstorms with strong gusts, lightning and possible hail for parts of the country on Friday, June 26. Central areas and the northern part of North Gyeongsang Province are expected to see intense downpours of up to about 30 mm per hour, with localized accumulations ranging from 5 mm to 80 mm depending on the region. Temperatures will stay in the high 20s °C, with highs of 28‑30 °C in Seoul and nearby cities.

Air quality is projected to remain good, with fine‑dust levels rated as "good" nationwide. Authorities advise caution for outdoor activities and infrastructure management due to the combined rain, wind and occasional hail.
