South Korea faces continued heatwaves and thunderstorms

Despite the passing of the solar term Cheoseo, heatwave warnings remain in effect across most of South Korea. High temperatures are expected to range between 31 and 36 degrees Celsius, with perceived temperatures reaching up to 35 degrees Celsius in southern regions and parts of the Seoul metropolitan area.

Localized showers accompanied by gusts, thunder, and lightning are forecasted for the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Province, and northern Chungcheong provinces. While these showers may temporarily lower temperatures, high humidity is expected to cause heat to rise again once the rain ceases.

Tropical nights, where minimum temperatures remain above 25 degrees Celsius, are also anticipated. Additionally, heavy fog may occur in some inland areas during the morning hours.
