South Korea fire agency inspects summer emergency readiness

Choi Yong-cheol, acting head of the National Fire Agency, conducted field inspections in South Korea to ensure readiness for summer water accidents and heat-related illnesses.

During his visit to Ssanggyok Valley in Goesan, Choi reviewed the operational status of the 119 Citizen Water Rescue Team and the management of rescue equipment. He emphasized the need for strengthened patrols in high-risk areas to prepare for both increased vacationer numbers and sudden heavy rainfall.

Additionally, Choi visited the Eumseong Fire Station to inspect emergency medical response systems for heatstroke. He verified the availability of essential supplies in ambulances, such as ice vests, ice packs, and electrolyte drinks, to ensure rapid on-site treatment for heat-related emergencies.
