South Korea hosts 11th Financial Day ceremony to honor industry excellence
The Financial Services Commission (FSC) held the 11th Financial Day ceremony in Seoul to recognize outstanding contributions to the financial sector. A total of 194 awards were presented across three primary categories: innovative finance, inclusive finance, and savings/investment.
This year’s ceremony introduced new award categories focused on shared growth and youth employment expansion. The FSC aims to encourage a 'financial virtuous cycle' where financial support leads to corporate growth, regional job creation, and social contribution. Notable recipients of the FSC Chairperson's Commendation included Kyobo Life and Kbank for their efforts in expanding youth recruitment.
In the inclusive finance category, the Chungbuk Credit Guarantee Foundation received recognition for enhancing financial accessibility for small business owners. Their efforts included providing customized guarantee support, reducing guarantee fees by approximately 2.06 billion won over two years, and implementing specialized services for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, the disabled, and pregnant women. Other awardees included Hanbit Credit Union and the Mindeulle Medical Social Cooperative for integrating financial and health welfare services.
