South Korea hosts diverse autumn festivals in Naju and Seoul

South Korea is hosting various autumn festivals throughout October, featuring large-scale cultural, culinary, and recreational programs in Naju and Seoul.

The Naju Yeongsan River Festival will take place from October 7 to 11 at the Yeongsan River Garden. This year’s event features an expanded flower garden covering 120,000 pyeong, showcasing autumn blooms like cosmos and sunflowers. The festival includes historical musical performances, such as ‘Queen Janghwa’, and community-driven cultural parades. To accommodate the expected crowds, Naju City has increased shuttle bus services and expanded food and convenience facilities.

In Seoul, the Hangang Festival Autumn edition will run from October 9 to 25 across various Han River parks. Programs include the ‘Hangang Forest Adventure’ with ziplines and climbing, a K-street food competition featuring 20 young chefs, and musical performances. Other events include the Hangang Paper Plane Festival and the Seoraeseom Picnic Concert, offering jazz, classical, and crossover music.
