South Korea hosts international youth ice hockey and football tournaments

South Korea is hosting several major international youth sports competitions. The 2026 Gyeonggi Province Governor's Cup Youth Ice Hockey Tournament recently concluded in Uijeongbu with a record 51 participating teams. The tournament featured various age groups, including an international match in the middle school division where HL Anyang U15 defeated Japan's SH ACADEMY 3-2.

In Gyeongju, the 2026 Hwarangdae Cup International Youth Football Tournament is scheduled to take place from the 14th to the 18th. The event will feature 16 teams from seven different countries, including prominent youth academies from Brazil's Palmeiras and Portugal's Sporting Lisbon. The tournament aims to provide domestic players with international experience and foster global sports exchange.
