South Korea intensifies pine wilt disease control efforts

South Korean authorities are intensifying efforts to combat pine wilt disease through localized and strategic management. In Hadong County, the Korea Forest Service's National Pine Wilt Disease Control Task Force inspected species conversion control sites in Geumnam-myeon to assess damage and strengthen regional cooperation.

Simultaneously, Chungcheongnam-do is developing a specialized 'Chungnam-style control strategy.' This initiative aims to move beyond simple removal of damaged trees toward a systematic approach that considers regional forest conditions and damage severity. The strategy involves concentrating resources on high-damage areas while enhancing precision monitoring and early response in regions at risk of spread.
