South Korea opens 2027 Global Korea Scholarship applications
The National Institute for International Education (NIIED), under the South Korean Ministry of Education, has released the application guidelines for the 2027 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for undergraduate degrees. The program aims to foster international talent and strengthen educational cooperation.
For the 2027 cycle, 286 students from 74 partner countries are expected to receive full funding for a bachelor’s or associate degree, including one year of Korean language study, a monthly living allowance of ₩1,200,000, and airfare.
Applicants must meet specific criteria, including being under the age of 25 and maintaining a minimum grade of 80/100, being in the top 20% of their class, or having a CGPA of at least 2.64/4.0. The application process involves three rounds of screening. The embassy track application window is scheduled from September 15 to September 30, 2026, via the Study in Korea website.
