South Korea poll shows 61% demand removal of Kim Yong‑beom amid stock market anxiety
A public opinion poll conducted by the Reform Party’s research institute surveyed 504 South Korean adults. 61% of respondents said policy‑staffer Kim Yong‑beom should be replaced, citing his handling of the recent stock‑market turbulence.
The same poll found that 58.2% of participants identified the government's economic policy as the chief cause of the market’s volatility, while 75.5% judged Kim’s remarks blaming individual investors as inappropriate.
Reform Party leader Lee Jun‑seok used the results to call on the president to conduct a full review of the country’s economic strategy, arguing that blaming investors erodes public trust in any policy response.
