South Korea prepares for 107th National Sports Festival in Jeju

Preparations and promotional activities are underway for the 107th National Sports Festival, scheduled to take place in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province from October 16 to 22.

In Seogwipo, a public recording of ‘KBS National Singing Contest: Seogwipo City Edition’ was held at Pyoseon Beach to raise public interest and celebrate the upcoming games. The event featured local participants and guest singers to promote the region as the host city.

In Daejeon, the city held a departure ceremony for its delegation participating in the festival. The Daejeon team, consisting of 1,714 athletes and officials across 50 sports, aims to secure 52 gold, 43 silver, and 89 bronze medals. Daejeon City Council Chairman Jo Seong-chil attended the ceremony to encourage the athletes and support the development of local sports environments.
