South Korea qualification exam results show diverse age groups

Recent results from the second round of qualification exams (GED) in South Korea highlight a diverse range of participants pursuing academic credentials.

In Chungcheongbuk-do, 933 out of 1,131 examinees passed, achieving an 82.49% pass rate. The cohort included an 11-year-old as the youngest successful candidate and a 79-year-old for the high school level. Notably, individuals aged 60 and older accounted for 9.43% of the successful candidates.

In Seoul, the exam saw its largest turnout since 2021, with 4,883 examinees. The pass rate reached 90.9%, with 4,439 individuals passing. The Seoul results included successful candidates from correctional facilities and individuals with disabilities, the latter of whom received specialized support such as home-based testing services. The oldest successful candidate in Seoul was an 82-year-old woman at the high school level.
