South Korea selects NC AI to lead national Agentic AI project

NC AI, a South Korean AI specialist, has been appointed the lead research institute for the government‑backed "Real‑World Active Behavioural Agentic AI Technology Development" project overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information and Communication Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP). The four‑year programme runs from 2026 to 2029 with a total budget of 493.75 billion won, of which 39.5 billion won is state‑funded.

In partnership with Gabia and the universities of Korea and Yonsei, NC AI will develop an autonomous “agentic” AI capable of understanding corporate goals, planning tasks, and executing them across fragmented enterprise systems. The technology will initially be tested on Gabia’s groupware platform, after which NC AI aims to commercialise the service and later extend it to physical‑AI applications in manufacturing and logistics.
