South Korea shares disaster safety communication network expertise with international officials
South Korea's Ministry of the Interior and Safety is showcasing its national disaster safety communication network to international officials. As part of the 2026 Global Public Safety Conference, representatives from Sweden, Finland, and India participated in a field visit to the Seoul Operations Center on May 23.
The network, which became the world's first nationwide LTE-based system in 2021, serves as a unified communication platform for police, fire services, and local governments to share information and coordinate responses during emergencies. During the visit, officials examined the integrated management system and reviewed practical case studies of the network in action.
The initiative aims to expand international cooperation and exchange technical and policy trends in the public safety communications sector by sharing South Korea's experience in building and operating a single nationwide network.
