Hyundai Motor and CHAEVI launch electric bus project in Bali

Hyundai Motor and charging infrastructure provider CHAEVI have partnered to implement an eco-friendly public transportation system in Bali, Indonesia. This initiative is part of an Official Development Assistance (ODA) project supported by the South Korean Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment and organized by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).

As part of the project, Hyundai Motor is supplying 11 County Electric mid-sized buses, which feature 128kWh batteries and a range of over 200km per charge. CHAEVI is responsible for installing six 100kW rapid charging stations optimized for the local climate and power environment. The project includes comprehensive support, ranging from installation and commissioning to maintenance training.

The electric buses are scheduled to begin operating on a 53km route connecting GOR Ngurah Rai and Garuda Wisnu Kencana in November. This project aims to reduce fossil fuel dependency and greenhouse gas emissions in the major tourist destination while validating the performance of Korean-made green mobility technology in Southeast Asian markets.
